Organizers of the Ninth Annual Elkhenge Music Festival are pleased to announce the return to the two day format for this year’s benefit concert. The Friday and Saturday, September 18-19 show will be held at the Rich Mountain Battlefield campground. Last years attendees were so enthusiastic about the venue, we're staying for another year! As in the past, Elkhenge will feature an eclectic mix of musical styles performed by the finest area and regional musicians.

All proceeds from Elkhenge will be shared between the Rich Mt Battlefield Association to preserve the Civil War site and the Highlands Trail Foundation, a group dedicated to the development of recreational rail trails in the area. Over the years, Elkhenge has raised over $11,000 for area non profits.

Once again, delicious food including authentic Jamaican Jerk Chicken and Louisiana-style Gumbo will be provided by Smokin Joe. There will be entertainment for children as well. Kids activities will occur on Saturday, and in the past have included a magic show, crafts, and puppets. Camping is strongly encouraged for the rain or shine event.

Headlining Elkhenge 9 will be New Jersey based jam-band, Juggling Suns. Their psychedelic dance groove evoke memories of the Grateful Dead.

Also taking the stage will be Sam Lamont. Sam was named Artist of the Year by the West Virginia Blues Society and we are thrilled to have him join the funky Elkhenge Family.

Vince Farsetta, the two-time National Old-Time Banjo Champion will be bringing his talents back to the festival as well.
