Rich Mountain Battlefield
The Rich Mountain Battlefield Foundation is working to preserve the Rich Mountain Battlefield and Camp Garnett, so that all of our citizens, now and in the future, will be able to appreciate this vital part of our heritage. Through the work of the Foundation, the site of the battle, Camp Garnett, and the portion of the original turnpike which connects the two sites have been recognized on the National Register of Historic Places.

Directions:
Elkhenge will take place at the "Field of Fire" campground of the Rich
Mt Battlefield.

The easiest route is from the Coalton side:  approx. 7
miles west of Elkins, take Rt 151 West a short distance to Coalton
Pumpkintown Road, turning left [following all the while the brown Rich
Mt Battlefield signs].  5 miles from Corridor H, you will turn left on
the Cassity-Mabie Road. 2.5 miles later, turn Left on Rich Mt Road.  The
site is about a 1/2 mile further.

Form the Beverly side, you can take Rich Mt Road all the way, passing
through the Battlefield, with the campground coming up on your right
about 7.2 miles in.
